Terms of use

Last updated 5 August 2026

Draft — not yet legally reviewed. This describes how Upgram is intended to work, but it has not been checked by a lawyer and is not a binding agreement. It must be reviewed and finalised before the app is published to the app stores.

These terms cover using Upgram as a learner and as a creator. We've tried to write them so you can actually read them — but they're still the agreement between you and us.

Your account

You need an account to follow creators, enrol in courses, message people or publish anything. You must be at least 13 years old, give accurate information, and keep your login credentials to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

You can delete your account from inside the app at any time, without asking us first.

Your content stays yours

You keep ownership of everything you upload. To run the service we need permission to host it, encode it into different formats and resolutions, generate captions and summaries from it, and show it to the people you publish it to. That permission is limited to operating and promoting Upgram, and it ends when you delete the content — apart from copies that have to persist in backups for a short period.

We don't claim ownership of your courses, and we don't sell your content to anyone else.

What you may not publish

  • Material you don't hold the rights to, including re-uploaded courses from other platforms you didn't create.
  • Sexual content, graphic violence, or content that harasses, threatens or targets people.
  • Misinformation presented as instruction where it could cause real harm — for example medical, legal or financial advice you're not qualified to give.
  • Spam, deceptive thumbnails, or courses that misrepresent what they teach.
  • Malware, scams, or attempts to move users off-platform to defraud them.

We can remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll tell you why and give you a way to appeal.

If you publish courses

Creators are responsible for what they teach and for having the rights to teach it. You set your own course prices within the range the platform allows, and you agree to deliver what your course description promises.

Paid courses and creator payouts are not switched on yet. When they are, the revenue share, payout schedule and refund rules will be set out in a creator agreement you'll be asked to accept before you can charge for anything — we won't apply new commercial terms to content you published under different ones.

Payments and refunds

Where purchases happen through the App Store or Google Play, their payment terms and refund processes apply alongside ours. Certificates you've already earned stay available to you — we won't put them behind a subscription later.

What we don't promise

Upgram is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and accurate, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service, and we don't guarantee any particular outcome from a course — including employment, income or certification recognised by any third party.

Course content reflects the views of the creator who made it, not ours.

Ending things

You can stop using Upgram and delete your account whenever you like. We can suspend or close an account that repeatedly breaks these terms or puts other users at risk. If we close your account, you keep the right to request a copy of your content.

Changes

If we change these terms materially, we'll give notice in the app before the change takes effect, so you can decide whether to carry on.
